Uma is a Partner in the Firm since 2017. She has over a decade’s experience in litigation and conveyancing and has briefly worked with the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. as Manager, Investor Services Cell – Arbitration.
Uma graduated from the R. A. Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce. She studied Law at the New Law College, Mumbai University and became a Member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa in 2007. She went on to complete her Post Graduate Degree in Business Laws from the School of Law, S.N.D.T Women’s University. She has a Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights from the Asian School of Cyber Laws and a Post Graduate Diploma in Securities Law from the Government Law College, Mumbai.
She regularly advises clients in insolvency and bankruptcy laws, property disputes as well as documentation related to transfer of property, arbitration, corporate, taxation and securities laws, family laws including succession law and divorce matters. She represents clients before various Forum, Tribunals, Competent Authorities, the District Courts, High Court as well as the Supreme Court.
Uma is a member of the Chamber of Tax Consultants and is also a visiting faculty at the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
